Czech and Slovak Association of Language Centres (CASALC)
The Centre of Languages at the Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra (SUA) is one of the largest collective members of the Czech and Slovak Association of Language Centres (CASALC). This affiliation connects it with university language departments focusing on non-philological specializations both domestically and internationally. Through CASALC, we have established a platform for collaboration and the exchange of professional experience, extending beyond the regular membership meetings.
Networking and sharing expertise in foreign language teaching are among the primary objectives of CASALC’s regular conference, Quality of Language Education at Universities in Europe, where our teachers participate actively. One of the key thematic areas of the conference presentations is the international foreign language testing programme UNICert®, in which we are involved. This programme is specifically designed for university students pursuing non-philological fields of study.
The Centre of Languages SUA in Nitra also plays a significant role in CASALC's activities through its representation on the CASALC board. Previous representatives included PhDr. Jarmila Horváthová, PhD., Mgr. Ivana Grežová, PhD., and Mgr. Viera Prídavková, PhD., while the current representative is Mgr. Stanislava Gálová, PhD.
As CASALC operates within the framework of the international organization CercleS (Confédération Européenne des Centres de Langues dans l’Enseignement Supérieur) and collaborates with NULTE (Network of University Language Testers in Europe), Centre of Languages SUA in Nitra constitutes a part of a broad network of university language centres across Europe.
