Online Slovak language testing for foreign applicants to study at the Slovak University of Agriculture (SUA) in Nitra
Foreign applicants (except for applicants from the Czech Republic and applicants who passed the “maturita” exams from the Slovak language) who apply for a study program provided at SUA in Nitra in the Slovak language and in a combination of Slovak and English must complete an online test and an online oral interview aimed at determining the level of their language proficiency in the Slovak language (fee for testing and issuing a certificate of testing results: €30). Testing is provided by The Centre of Languages at SUA in Nitra on two dates:
- date of online Slovak language testing for foreign applicants who apply for studies at SUA in Nitra in the first round, i.e. by 30.4. 2025 (online Slovak language test: 27.5.2025; online oral interview in the Slovak language: 29.5.2025 and 30.5.2025);
- date of online Slovak language testing for foreign applicants who apply for studies at SUA in Nitra in the second round, i.e. by 15.7.2025 (online Slovak language test: 22.7.2025; online oral interview in the Slovak language: 24.7.2025).
Applicants will be informed about the specific time of the online test and the online oral interview after completing the registration (sending the payment confirmation to: testovanie.slovencina@uniag.sk) and processing the applications. At the same time, "Manual for the Slovak Language Entrance Exam 2025" will be sent to them along with a link to MS Teams, as well as a login and password with which applicants can log in to the Slovak language test in the Moodle system.
After passing the language exam, the applicant will be issued a certificate of the summary result of the online test and the online interview, which will correspond to the language level according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. The test and confirmation cost €30.
If the language proficiency level of the applicant is lower than A1, the applicant will not be accepted.
If the applicant's language proficiency level is A1, the applicant will meet one of the admission requirements, but will be required to complete a 30-hour paid Slovak language course organized by the Centre of Languages at SUA in Nitra (course fee: €120). The course will take place from August 25, 2025 to September 5, 2025. After its completion, the applicant will be issued a certificate of completion.
If the applicant's language proficiency level is A2 or higher, the applicant will meet one of the admission requirements for studies.
The online test (multi-level language proficiency test) contains 120 tasks aimed at determining and verifying the level of Slovak language. The answer is chosen from four options marked with the letters A, B, C, D. The correct answer is always only one of the options. The time limit for the online test is 60 minutes. The tasks in the test focus primarily on grammar, vocabulary, and reading comprehension from level A1 to level B2.
Online oral interview on general everyday life topics is focused on the applicants' ability to respond and express themselves in the Slovak language at the required level (minimum level A1).
Online testing will be conducted via MS Teams (the manual is available on the Microsoft website).
